Ten of the Analyses Behind Our SEO and AI SEO Work

What each one does for your business

Every engagement we run is built on research before anything is written or changed. The ten analyses below are a few of the ones we have described publicly. They are not the whole process, and the details of how each is done stay with us; what follows is what each one does for a business that wants to be found in Google and named by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google’s AI Overviews.

Rank Intelligence Engine runs 23 specialized analyses and implementation capabilities under Phil Belleville’s 30 years of SEO judgment. These are ten.

Before a word is written

Three analyses that decide what gets built

Most of what goes wrong on a website was decided before the first page was written: which page owns which search, what the pages that already rank look like, and what the buyer actually says. These three settle that.

Keyword mapping

Every search worth having is assigned to exactly one page before anything is built, and every other page is fenced off from it.

The benefit: your pages never compete with each other, the site is built on the words your market actually uses, and you never pay for a page that could not win.

Competitor SEO analysis

The pages already ranking and being cited for each of your searches are measured, and their range becomes the bar your page is built to clear.

The benefit: a new page meets the standard of the pages beating it on the day it goes live, and effort is moved off searches you cannot win before a word is spent on them.

Voice of customer research

Hundreds of real buyer sentences, each traceable to its source, sorted into the moments that decide a purchase.

The benefit: pages that say the buyer’s problem better than the buyer could, which is what earns trust from a person and a citation from an answer engine assembling a reply to that same question.

Inside the site

Three analyses that make the site pull in one direction

A site that has grown for a few years is usually working against itself without anyone noticing. These three find where, and turn the site’s own weight to the pages that make money.

Internal link audit

Every link inside the site is read for where your existing authority is going, and the changes are installed rather than listed.

The benefit: the fastest ranking gain most sites have never taken, at no cost outside the site: authority you already have, pointed at the pages you want to rank.

Keyword cannibalization audit

The daily ranking history shows which of your pages are switching places for the same searches, and each page involved receives one clear decision.

The benefit: rankings that settle instead of bouncing, and one strong page per question for the AI engines to cite instead of two weak ones to skip.

Topical authority measurement

How completely the site covers its subject, measured against the competitors that already rank, subject by subject.

The benefit: the engines treat the site as a source rather than an option, so it wins the searches around the subject and collects the citations across a buyer’s whole conversation with an assistant, not just the opening question.

Trust and action

Four analyses that decide whether you are believed, named and called

Being findable is the first half. These four decide whether Google, the AI engines and the visitor trust the business enough to rank it, recommend it and pick up the phone.

Knowledge Graph record

Google’s own record of your business, and of each competitor, is pulled and compared: whether one exists, what it says, and how confident Google is in it.

The benefit: eligibility to be named by Google’s AI answers and Gemini, which draw on that record directly, and a description of your business that reads the way you would write it.

Entity assessment

Ten weighted dimensions of whether the engines can identify your business as one clear, verifiable thing across the site, the profile and the web.

The benefit: the precondition for every AI recommendation a business earns. An assistant will only commit to a name it can verify; this is what gives it the means.

Experience, expertise, authority and trust

The proof on and around the site that a page was written by someone who has done the work and can be believed, scored against the competitors already ranking.

The benefit: the higher threshold the AI engines apply before they quote a source is met with evidence rather than tone, and the proof compounds over time where claims do not.

Conversion audit

Each money page is read the way a prospect reads it, across twelve scored dimensions, with three alternatives for every weak element.

The benefit: rankings and citations that turn into inquiries, and a clear answer to the most common complaint we hear: we rank, we get visitors, and the phone does not ring.

Why they run together

Ten separately would be a list.
Ten together is a system.

Each of these analyses is useful on its own. Run together, in order, they do something none can do alone. The map decides what each page owns; the competitor bar decides what it must contain; the buyer’s words decide how it reads. The link audit and the cannibalization audit then make sure the site’s own weight lands on those pages instead of scattering, and the topical measurement shows where depth is still missing. The entity, Knowledge Graph and proof analyses decide whether the engines trust the result enough to rank and cite it, and the conversion audit decides whether the visitor who arrives does anything. Skip one and the others compensate for it badly: a perfectly written page on a site that competes with itself, a trusted entity with pages that do not convert, a converting page the engines never reach.

That is why the analyses are not sold separately and why a proposal from us is built on their findings rather than a menu of activities. The work is measured first, built second, verified on your WordPress site, and re-measured, and the same numbers show whether the bar was cleared. Rank Intelligence Engine is the system that runs them in that order; the seven published case studies are what it produces.

What is not on this page

This is a limited part
of the process

Ten analyses are described here because we have written about them. Thirteen more are not, and none of the ten is described in the detail that makes it work. The order they run in, the thresholds they use, what happens when two of them disagree, and how their findings become pages, links, structured data and a citation footprint on your site are the substance of the engagement, and they are discussed in a conversation, not on a page.
