Ranking on Google, but not showing up in AI answers? AI Search Engine Optimization, based in Phoenix, Arizona, provides AI SEO services installed directly on your WordPress website. Here is why AI answers skip a business. An answer engine has to know who you are, check that against other sources, and find a passage on your page it can quote. When one of those is missing, it names someone else. Proof one: we publish our own numbers. On September 13, 2026, this site was cited eight times across 26 buyer questions. Three days later, it was twelve. Proof two: the work ends on your website, not in a report. On one client site in August 2026, we installed 116 link changes across 77 pages in a single pass, and checked every one live. Proof three: ongoing services run month to month, with a written scope and price before any paid work begins. We do not guarantee AI mentions. We show you what changed, when, and what it did. Sound familiar?
AI search optimization services for owners who have been sold before
Have you paid for search work before? Then some of this will sound familiar. The lines in quotes come from public reviews of other agencies.
Reports that impress and do not inform
One customer called the monthly report “framed to impress rather than inform.” The numbers went up. The phone did not ring. Nothing showed which change did what.
Research that nobody installs
Another complained of “a set-it-and-forget-it approach rather than active management.” The audit comes in. The advice sits in a file. Nothing changes where your customers look.
Terms that outlast the results
A third had “worked with many Marketing companies that lock you into a contract.” The term runs on after the gains stop. Leaving costs more than staying.
The same retainer with a new label
Now the same SEO agency package is back with AI in its name. Call it the relabelled retainer. It is the same SEO, with reports that impress, and nobody installs it. You are found in traditional search results, and you are still “not showing up” where your prospects now ask: inside the AI answer.
If that is your situation, read on.
The same SEO, and the part that is new
Rank Intelligence Engine: the SEO you know, and the part AI answers need
The aim is plain. You can see what was changed on your own website, when it was changed, and what it did.
We publish our own dated AI citation counts. On September 13, 2026 our domain was cited eight times across 26 questions. Three days later it was twelve.
Those counts are published with the platform and the date. They move in public. On October 5, 2026 we read ten agency service pages, and none of them shows its own.
The part that is the same SEO
The AI engines draw on the same index Google does. Rankings, technical SEO, content and links still settle whether a page is found at all. Traditional search still sends most of the traffic.
The part that is new
An AI answer has to do three things. It has to know who the business is. It has to check that against other sources. It has to lift a passage it can quote.
That adds three kinds of work: making the business clear to AI systems, building passages they can quote, and earning proof elsewhere on the web. We measure the result on each platform, by question and date.
How the service runs for you
1. Find the cause. We measure where you stand in search results and in AI answers, and record it before anything changes.
2. Install the fix. The work is carried into WordPress and checked live.
3. Measure the result. Each platform is checked again, with the question and the date recorded.
So the question is not whether this is SEO with a new name. Part of it is. The question is whether anyone installs the rest.

Results on record
Seven client records, measured in Google and dated
Each business is described, not named. These records show organic and map results. They do not establish AI citation or revenue gains.
From the records of AI Search Engine Optimization: twelve conflicting business records for a pain medicine clinic in Missoula consolidated to one, after which the Knowledge Graph confidence score for the business name rose from 29 to 75.
A cell tower lease consultancy serving property owners nationwide
Organic terms in the top ten: 0 to 30 (January 21 to 27 against August 31 to September 6, 2026).
Map pack: 43 of 47 tracked terms in the visible 3-pack, 33 of them at number 1 (August 20 to 26, 2026).
A paint protection film specialist in England
Map pack: 64 to 108 of 123 tracked terms in the visible 3-pack in 35 days.
At number 1: 8 to 75.
A family law firm in Montana
Map pack: 4 to 53 of 70 tracked terms in the visible 3-pack (September 2025 against March 2026).
At number 1: 0 to 20.
A mobile outboard repair business in Central Florida
Organic terms in the top three: 0 to 10 in 35 days (August 2026).
Map pack, measured 19 miles from the business’s base: terms at number 1 from 2 to 9.
A bathtub reglazing business in Southern California
Average position on four commercial keywords: 5.0 to 1.75 (February 1 to August 27, 2026).
The business is based about 41 miles by road from the area its keywords target.
A special education law firm serving families across California
Organic terms in a statewide top three: 1 to 11 (September 2025 against late August 2026).
Businesses in the records: a cell tower lease consultancy | a paint protection film specialist | a family law firm | a mobile outboard repair business | a bathtub reglazing business | a special education law firm | a wellness spa | a pain medicine clinic

How the machines decide
What an AI answer needs before it names your business
A search engine orders results. An AI answer engine has a harder job. It has to conclude that your business exists, that it can be trusted, and that something you published is worth quoting.
Traditional SEO was built for the first job. AI search optimization has to do both. The large language models behind AI generated answers do not order a list. They choose a source.
Our optimization work treats each of those three tests on its own, because the proof behind each one is different. Six of the analyses inside Rank Intelligence Engine do this work.
Entity clarity: can the engines tell who you are?
We score ten weighted dimensions. Together they show whether Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini can see your business as one clear thing. We check that your name, address and services match on every profile and listing. We also check review-backed trust, FAQ substance, the structure of your content, and the way it links together.
This is the entity optimization that AI systems reward. AI search features draw on it. Traditional SEO rarely measured it.
What you receive: a scored entity record against three competitors, and the list of contradictions and gaps that stop an assistant from naming you with confidence.
Google’s own record: the Knowledge Graph
Google keeps a database of entities it is confident about. AI Overviews, AI Mode and Gemini draw on it when they judge whether a business exists and what it does.
We pull the public record data for your business and for each competitor. We look at whether one exists, its confidence score, the description Google holds, its types and its linked identifiers.
It is the single strongest predictor of whether your brand appears in these AI generated answers at all. It also shapes what they say about you when it does.
What you receive: the gap between your record and the strongest competitor’s, turned into actions on your own properties and on the profiles that feed it.
Expertise and trust the engines can verify
We measure the proof across your content: first-hand experience, named expertise, authority references and trust markers. We compare it with the three competitors that already hold the top positions and get cited.
Google’s quality guidelines and the AI engines look for this proof before they list or quote a business. AI systems set a higher bar than traditional search engines ever did, because an AI summary stands behind one or two sources.
What you receive: exactly which proof is absent, and where it belongs.
Topical depth: does the site know its subject?
We measure what the engines link with an authority in your niche. We measure it across your whole domain and against two or three competitors. You see which subjects and topic clusters are covered, how deeply, and where the gaps are.
A website that clearly knows its subject is the one that gets cited when a prospect asks a question. In generative search, content quality across the whole domain counts for more than any single URL.
What you receive: the subjects to cover, in the order that lifts your money pages first.
The block an AI will quote
We score each key URL for the passage an answer engine can lift whole. Does it stand on its own? Does it make a specific claim that can be checked? Does the structured data say the same thing in machine-readable form?
Direct answers in such a block are what ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI search features cite. They are also what survives when AI generated summaries replace the list of search results.
What you receive: an answer block specification for each key page, drafted and installed, with its schema markup twin.
Where the engines confirm you: the citation footprint
AI systems check other sources before they recommend a business. They check best-of lists, industry authority publications, review platforms, editorial press and community threads. We find which of those sources the engines already cite in your niche, and which you can reach.
Authority building was always part of search engine optimization. In the AI era it determines whether the AI models trust you enough to say your name. It is the part of AI optimization that no change to your own content can replace.
What you receive: twenty or more qualified targets, the angle for each, and a ninety-day calendar, so the depth of your content is matched by the mentions the engines use to confirm it.
Platform by platform
What each AI platform reads, and why one page cannot serve them all the same way
The platforms overlap, but each one weighs the evidence in its own way. Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot are separate AI search engines with separate habits. They answer the same search queries with different sources and different AI responses. Generative AI SEO services have to account for each of them, not only one.
Google’s AI is the largest of them: more people see it than any other. It is not the only one your customers use. In AI powered search, AI generated answers are the product, and AI Overviews is only the most visible example.
The scope of an AI SEO engagement names the assistants that matter to your prospects. It records the conditions of every AI visibility check, so a result on one is never mistaken for a result on all.
Google AI Overviews and AI Mode
Both are built on the search index and the Knowledge Graph. A business that is indexed well and resolves as an entity is eligible. A specific answer that can be extracted is what gets quoted.
The company states that its established search guidance still governs these features. So the fundamentals of traditional SEO and the entity record both matter here.
AI Mode visibility follows the same rule. The AI generated responses in AI Mode draw on the same index and the same record. Content that one feature can find and trust, the other can use too.
ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot
Both lean on Bing’s index and on the sources the assistant finds when it searches live. Both weigh how often a business is named on sources they trust.
Neither can see Google’s Knowledge Graph. So entity consistency across your profiles and the external citation footprint carry more of the load on these assistants.
Perplexity and Gemini
Both retrieve live sources and cite them inline. That rewards content that gives direct answers to specific questions in a block that stands on its own, and that is fresh enough to be re-read.
Recency, extractability and clear attribution determine most of what these two cite. How large language models weigh a source shifts with every model update. That is why the checks are dated.
Powered by our proprietary Rank Intelligence Engine
How the work runs: four steps on one WordPress website
Rank Intelligence Engine is one optimization system. Its 25 specialized capabilities feed the six analyses above. The six analyses run in four steps. Three results follow: your business is understood, it earns trust, and the visit turns into an inquiry.
Step 1: Intelligence
We measure every search your business could win, including the keywords behind each one. Each search goes to exactly one page. We also measure the competitors that hold those positions now. You get a dated record of your AI visibility before anything changes.
Step 2: Rank Gap Scan
We check every indexed URL for technical SEO: crawl and index state, site speed, template errors, thin content, structured data and AI crawler access. We also test whether the engines know who you are. This is where most SEO services stop.
Step 3: Authority Build Map
We set the order of the work. Each finding is weighed by what it costs you today and what it depends on. For every key service, we plan the passage an AI will quote before anything is drafted.
Step 4: Rank Momentum
We build the content to the bar your competitors set. Then we install it in your WordPress and check it live. Links, structured data and copy go in as one optimization layer, and we check the answer engines afterward.
What you receive first
A free 30-minute strategy call with Phil. If the service is a fit, a fixed scope and price. Then an AI SEO strategy tied to your market, a defined plan for putting it into practice, and a dated record of your current AI visibility.
What we change, and where
The work ends on your WordPress website, not in a document
WordPress is our focus and specialty. This is AI SEO for WordPress websites, done inside your own WordPress. Everything the analyses find is carried into it and verified there. Then it is measured on the platforms that matter.
Technical SEO, content, structured data and internal linking are installed as one integrated WordPress AI SEO layer, not as separate tickets. Afterward we confirm AI systems can read what changed.
Pages built to the bar
Each key page is built or rebuilt from the competitors that already rank and get cited for that service. It uses the words your prospects use. It carries the answer block, the FAQs, the structured data and the internal links that citable content needs.
Content quality is measured against what the AI engines cite as well as what wins in traditional search, so it is built for both.
Structured data as a mirror of the page
There is one organization record for the whole domain. Every human-facing fact has a twin in machine-readable form. So an AI system can assemble your business as one entity from any URL it lands on.
Structured data is what lets AI driven search engines read your content the way a person does. It is installed, validated, and never left as a recommendation.
Measured by platform, question and date
AI visibility is baselined before the work and measured again after it. We count citations per platform for your business and your competitors. We also run a live probe of the questions that matter, recorded with the platform, the wording and the date.
Search visibility and rankings are tracked daily alongside it, so AI visibility and the traditional search work are judged on the same calendar. Where a generative search platform stops citing a URL, the date it stopped is in the record.
The terms
Ongoing services run month to month. You receive a fixed scope and price before any paid work begins. The work stays yours.
Before you sign anything
What to make any AI SEO services proposal show you
Six measurements separate a service that changes how AI answers and search engines treat a business from a proposal that has added the word AI to an old SEO package and called it AI SEO marketing. They are: citations per AI platform, share of answers against named competitors, presence in Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, the changes installed on the website itself, the third-party authority built, and the inquiries that result.
Ask for all six before you sign. AI Search Engine Optimization takes the first three for its own domain on a regular schedule, across 26 buyer and research questions on six answer engines, and publishes what it finds.
One warning: a proposal whose AI means it will use AI to create content is describing a different service.
1. Citations, counted per platform
This is how many times your content is cited as a source when ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google AI Overviews and AI Mode answer the questions your prospects ask. Ask for a dated baseline, taken before any work starts, with the question list and the platform behind each count. A proposal that cannot produce one has no way to show you what changed.
What a real answer looks like: a table dated to the day. It has one row per question and one column per platform, with the cited URL named in each cell.
Ours, published as it moves: eight citations of our domain across 26 questions on September 13, 2026, all from ChatGPT, on two URLs; twelve citations on three URLs three days later, the new one being this service page. Small numbers, dated and shown either way, because a baseline you cannot see move is not a baseline.
2. Share of answers against named competitors
Take the AI answers to a prospect’s question in your market. How many name your business, and how many name each competitor? Ask for the competitor set, the question list and the platforms. A share only means something against the businesses the AI recommends today in your place.
What a real answer looks like: the number of answers that named you out of the total runs, and the same count for each competitor, split by platform and dated.
The split by platform matters. On September 16, 2026 the same question was answered with agency names by ChatGPT and the AI Overview, and with a table of software tools by Bing Copilot and AI Mode. A share of answers read across platforms as one number is wrong.
3. Presence in Google AI Overviews and AI Mode
AI results are a separate contest from the ten organic listings. A URL can sit on the first results page and never appear in the AI Overview above it. Ask which of your key pages appear in it for their own searches, and which competitors hold those slots in their place.
What a real answer looks like: a list of your key pages. For each one, it shows whether the answer box for its own search includes it, and who holds the slot if not.
Checked on September 16, 2026: the Google AI Overview for this service’s main search cited two sources, one agency service page and one community thread carrying fifty answers. Those are the slots to earn.
4. What changes on your website
The optimization changes are: one organization record sitewide, structured data that mirrors the visible text, answer blocks the AI engines can lift, a FAQ layer on every key page, and internal links installed with exact anchors. Ask to see the list of changes installed for a client, not the list of recommendations delivered. The two documents look alike and cost the same. Only one moves a position.
What a real answer looks like: a change log. It shows the URL, the element, the text before and after, and the date each change was verified live. The measurement that moved follows it.
From the records of AI Search Engine Optimization: twelve conflicting business records for a pain medicine clinic in Missoula consolidated to one, after which the Knowledge Graph confidence score for the business name rose from 29 to 75.
5. The third-party authority built for you
AI assistants build their recommendations largely from third-party lists, review platforms, editorial coverage, community threads and video. They do not build them from a business’s own website. Ask which placements the proposal will earn, where, and how each is chosen. A plan with no external lane loses the recommendation questions, no matter how good your own content becomes.
What a real answer looks like: the named lists, review platforms and communities the plan targets. Each is chosen because the AI already cites it for your prospects’ questions, with the number of times it was cited beside it.
In the September 16, 2026 measurement by AI Search Engine Optimization across 26 questions on six answer engines, the most-cited sources were Google’s own documentation, in 21.7 percent of answers, and YouTube, in 16.7 percent. Tool vendors came next, then a review directory in 9.7 percent, Reddit in 8 percent, and a run of third-party agency lists. No agency’s own service page reached the ten most-cited domains.
6. Inquiries, and the sessions AI sends
This covers the traffic that arrives from an AI answer, the prospects who say an AI assistant sent them, and the qualified inquiries that follow. Ask whether the proposal reports the sessions arriving from each AI platform, and whether it asks every new inquiry how they found you. A visibility score that never reaches an inquiry count is a vanity metric.
What a real answer looks like: AI traffic from each platform per month, from the analytics referral report. An inquiry form that asks every prospect which AI assistant sent them, by name. And the qualified inquiries that came through each.
Our own inquiry form asks that question of every prospect. Ask to see the same wherever the proposal claims a result.
A 30-minute strategy call with Phil. Bring your URL; leave with the six measurements to expect from any proposal.
AI tools and people
Can an AI do this, or do you need a service?
AI tools draft, group and check at speed, and we use them in our AI optimization services. They do not check that a claim about your business is true. They do not choose which of two URLs should own a search.
In January 2026, one founder posted in a public forum about a tool. It published 200 articles, and the rankings dropped. Getting a business named takes a human call each time a claim has to be true.
Is this the right fit?
Who this is for, and who it is not for
Right for you if:
- You want to see what was changed, and check it yourself.
- You want the work installed in WordPress you control, month to month.
- You have a real offer, relevant experience, and a WordPress website whose traffic could do more to support new business.
- Your customers compare providers in AI answers as well as in traditional search.
Not for you if you want articles published by the hundred, or a guaranteed spot in an AI answer.
If that is not you, this is the wrong service, and it is better to know that now.
Still not showing up where your buyers ask?
If you are found on Google and are “not showing up” in the AI answer, the cause can be found and the fix can be installed.
Or call (712) 635-7879. Month to month. No obligation. Seven published client records.
Before we talk
Your questions, answered plainly
Twelve questions business owners ask before they hire anyone for this work.
What are AI SEO services, and is this just SEO with a new name?
This is the work that gets a business cited or named inside AI generated answers, as well as found in search. Part of it is the SEO you already know. The AI engines draw on the same index, so positions in search still matter. The added part is new. It makes the business clear to the engines. It builds passages they can quote. It earns proof elsewhere on the web. We measure the results on each of six answer engines, against a fixed set of questions (26 for our own domain). We run both parts as one engagement inside Rank Intelligence Engine, on WordPress, so nothing is handed between teams. Ask any provider which part is which.
Why do AI answers name my competitors and not my business?
AI answers name the businesses they can identify, check and quote, and a strong position in search does not prove any of the three. An answer engine asks three things. Can it tell who you are? Do other sources back up what you claim? Does your content hold a passage it can lift whole? When one is absent, it names someone else. On September 16, 2026 we checked the AI Overview for the search this service targets. It cited two sources. That is how few places there are. We find which of the three is lacking for your business and install the fix in your WordPress. The strategy call starts with where you stand today.
What happens if I wait?
If you wait, the few places in an AI answer go to businesses the engines can already check. We measured this on September 16, 2026, across 26 questions on six answer engines. ChatGPT and the AI Overview both answered the same question with a short list of agency names. More people are being handed short lists today. Traditional search still sends most of the traffic, so nothing falls apart overnight. What changes is who gets considered at all. A free 30-minute strategy call shows your AI visibility and your standing in search, before you commit to anything.
What do AI SEO services cost?
The price depends on the scope, and you get it on paper before any paid work begins. We do not publish a price list, because two WordPress websites rarely need the same work. The cost follows three things: how much content must be built or rebuilt, which answer engines, keywords and questions are measured, and how much of the existing build must be repaired first. The first step is a free 30-minute strategy call with Phil. If the service is a fit, you receive a fixed scope and price. Ongoing services run month to month. Our post on AI SEO investment and return explains what progress should mean at each stage.
How long until I see something?
Expect a short wait for the first movement you can measure, and months for a settled result. No provider can honestly promise a date. Our own records show the range. Our AI citations rose from eight to twelve between September 13 and September 16, 2026. In map results, a paint protection film specialist in England went from 64 to 108 of 123 tracked terms in 35 days. A family law firm in Montana took about six months to move from 4 to 53 of 70. We record a dated baseline before work starts on your WordPress website, so you can measure against it yourself. The timeline post shows eight dated records, week by week.
What does the process look like?
The work runs in four steps, and each one ends with something you can check. Step 1, Intelligence: every search and keyword your business could win is measured and assigned to exactly one URL. Step 2, Rank Gap Scan: every indexed URL is examined, along with whether the engines know who you are. Step 3, Authority Build Map: the order of the work is set, and the passage an AI will quote is planned for each key service. Step 4, Rank Momentum: the content is built, installed on your WordPress website and verified. For one client in August 2026 we installed 116 link changes across 77 URLs in a single pass and checked every one live afterward. The scope is agreed before paid work begins.
Is there an AI that can do SEO for me, or do I need a service?
AI tools can do parts of SEO well, but none yet does the part that determines whether an answer engine names you. They draft, group and check at speed. They cannot confirm that a claim about your business is true. They cannot earn proof from other sources. They cannot choose which of two URLs should own a search. Publishing in bulk is the common failure. In January 2026, one founder reported in a public forum that a tool published 200 articles and the rankings dropped. Rank Intelligence Engine uses AI workflows across its 25 capabilities, with a human call wherever a claim has to be true. Our post on AI SEO automation shows where that line sits.
Which AI SEO service is the best?
The best choice of SEO provider for your business is the one that will show you six measurements for your own market before you sign: citations per AI platform, share of answers against named competitors, presence in Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, the changes it installed for a client, the third-party placements it earned, and the inquiries that followed. A provider that measures its own AI visibility this way can show you its own table first. Rank Intelligence Engine is built to produce all six on the website you own. Ours is published above: twelve citations across 26 questions on September 16, 2026.
Can you guarantee mentions in ChatGPT or Google AI answers?
No. Each platform controls its own answers, and AI generated answers vary with the question, the context and the model version. Our optimization work strengthens relevant visibility, and we report observed appearances with the conditions of the check, the same way traditional SEO never guaranteed a position. In place of a guarantee, we give you proof you can check. You get a dated record of where you stand before work starts. Every change is installed on your WordPress website and checked live. You see the same six measurements we publish for ourselves. Phil Belleville, whose SEO experience dates to 1995, directs the work.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. Ongoing services run month to month. Before any paid work begins, you receive a fixed scope and price. You know what will be done and what it will cost before you agree to anything. The work is installed in the WordPress you own. It sits on your server, not in a system of ours. We say this plainly because exit terms are a common complaint in SEO agency reviews. In October 2026 we read 523 public reviews of five national agencies. Contract and cancellation problems came up in nine reviews, across four of the five. Start with the 30-minute call. There is no obligation.
I have been let down by an SEO provider before. Why would this be different?
It is different in three ways you can check before you pay anything. First, we publish our own numbers: twelve AI citations of our domain across 26 questions on September 16, 2026, with the platform, URL and date recorded. Second, the work is installed on the WordPress website you own and every change is checked live, so nothing waits in a report. Third, ongoing services run month to month. We do not guarantee placements, and we say so. What we can do is make every claim checkable in your own tools. Ask the same of anyone you are comparing us with, and keep the one who shows you the most.
What happens after I contact you?
You book a free 30-minute strategy call with Phil, and you leave it knowing where you stand. On the call we talk through your website, your market and your priorities. We look at where you stand today in the traditional search results and in the AI search results. If the service is a fit, you receive a fixed scope and price. If it is not, we say so. No paid work begins before the scope is agreed. You work directly with Phil Belleville, whose SEO experience dates to 1995. The system behind our seven published client records is applied to your WordPress website. Ongoing services run month to month.

What changes it
We build the missing proof and install it on your website. Then we measure each platform, by question and date.
